Matt is a celebrated writer with a remarkable journey. He is now represented by Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown and and is studying a Masters in Creative Writing at Kellogg College, University of Oxford.

Part of New Writing North’s A Writing Chance programme 2024/25 (Substack strand). He has been long listed for Fish Publishing’s Short Memoir Competition 2024, won Spread The Word’s Scribe UK 2021, and was highly commended for the Life Writing Prize 2021.

A tireless champion for working-class voices, Matt shares candid stories about growing up in care and forging a path in the music industry on his Substack newsletter, Underclass Hero.
