Writing

Find out more about Matt's work as a writer.

Matt always knew he had enough stories to fill a book and during lockdown he started writing about his experiences growing up in the UK care system.

Completing an undergraduate diploma at the University of Cambridge while working as an in-house engineer at ARC Recording Studios, one of his short stories won Spread The Word’s Scribe UK 2021 and attracted publishing industry attention.

He is now represented by Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown and finishing his debut novel before starting a Masters in Creative Writing at Kellogg College, University of Oxford.

Matt’s memoir is as-yet-untitled and due for publication in the near future.

Matt has a Substack channel called Underclass Hero, which can be found here.
